The Gait and Motion Analysis Laboratory (GAMA) is a specialized service integrating advanced technology and movement science to provide a custom-designed analysis procedure to evaluate movement disorders. The GAMA Lab facility provides comprehensive evaluation of physical motion, balance and walking patterns to enhance the rehabilitation physical outcomes of our clients by improved clinical and research efforts. The expert, interdisciplinary team is dedicated to excellence in research and client-focused care by meeting the needs of our clients, clinicians and researchers. The GAMA laboratory is part of the Institute for Rehabilitation Research and Development (The Rehabilitation Centre, Ottawa, Canada).
Mandate

The GAMA Lab facility provides comprehensive evaluation of physical motion, balance and walking patterns to enhance the rehabilitation physical outcomes of our clients by improved clinical and research efforts. The expert, interdisciplinary team is dedicated to excellence in research and client-focused care by meeting the needs of our clients, clinicians and researchers.
The purpose of the GAMA Lab facility is to enhance client care through more accurate diagnosis of movement disorders; education of clients, staff and students and to conduct and foster innovative research and development.
The GAMA Lab facility receives referrals from treating clinicians within this Centre and externally from the community in the Ottawa-Hull region. Clients of all ages are served with musculo-skeletal or neurological movement disorders and amputation. Clients may be referred from acute care facilities, private clinics, Homecare agency and other health care facilities.
